Iron sets

This category of golf clubs represents the majority of golf equipment. Today's usual set of irons starts with a 5 iron and ends with a sand wedge (7 irons in total). The club heads of the irons are mostly made of steel, either cast or forged. Irons offer the most adaptability required for a fitting, as special attention is paid to shaft length and lie angle. The shaft question regarding steel or graphite shaft is also by far the most important issue with irons. Depending on your playing strength / handicap, a sporty forged iron with a steel shaft or, for weaker players, a forgiving oversize model made of cast iron and graphite shaft is recommended.
